Let's dive into the archetype of Capricorn with a discussion of 'Social Conditioning'.
Have you noticed it?
Laws, traditions, institutional bureaucracies, vernacular... when we're identified with social constructs, it can be hard to see how much of our 'reality' is actually a CREATION. It seems so real! But most of humanity lives inside a field of collectively generated and agreed upon thought forms, belief structures, behaviors, rules and regulations that define our lives. Almost none live 'outside' the system. (Limited, perhaps, to some spiritual disciples or staunchly independent indigenous tribes.)
Indoctrinated from birth, our societal structures teach us the 'rules of conduct' to 'play' by in order to 'succeed' according to normative status quo. Some rules are useful - like don't harm someone against their will, don't have sex with children, and don't urinate in the middle of a public building.
Many are maddeningly irrational.
So we stumble along, doing our best to colour within the lines. We take on acceptable roles, get accredited, read the news, buy a house, drink beer, become enraged when our neighbor doesn't shovel their walk. You know the drill. We TAKE IT.
Until we wake up.
At the age of 14 I inhaled Pink Floyd's seminal album The Wall - about a boy who builds a brick wall around himself in response to the traumatic culture he is born into, and then breaks FREE to rise into sovereign power. Though my mini self, riding her 10 speed around Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with her Walkman blasting, had no personal context for these powerful words, I suppose my sleeping soul recognized the truth when it heard it.
We don't need no education

All in all it's just another brick in the wall.

Now let's be clear: we all build walls and they aren't all bad!!
Walls keep us 'propped up'... they structure our reality. Saturn is the master of our personal 'walls', and his disciple Capricorn is an essential part of our archetypal essence. Without elegant guidelines and the will to build a better world, we would suffer from a lack of social cohesion, infrastructure, resource management, and a functioning society.
Yet we need to keep a healthy perspective.
Because SHOULDS are not TRUTH. They are CONSTRUCTS. We may agree to abide by them, but we must remember that we have collectively created them... and they are not in charge.
WE ARE.
And we can REFORM the structures when they no longer serve our highest good.
This Capricorn-infused year shouts for us to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE STRUCTURES WE HAVE BUILT, internally and externally, urging us into PERSONAL AND COLLECTIVE SOBER SOVEREIGNTY.
To WAKE UP, essentially, and see what's really going on.
And to be culpable for the parts of our constructed reality that contribute to the denigration of our planet, our communities and our selves.
As Saturn and Pluto approach their incriminating alignment in January 2020, we may see some external structures warble and fall. This might be frightening, or exciting. I'm not sure.
But most assuredly, we will FEEL at some point in 2019 like our own inner system is failing us. The ways we have been, the 'rules' and 'hierarchies' we have believed in. Our walls will fall. Pluto will take them down, Saturn will demand accountability. (The area of your life this may thematically present in may be described by the 'House' that natal Capricorn falls into, in your chart.... and if you have Cardinal planets in orb with any of the 4 Capricorn/Cancer Eclipses occurring this year, you will be more strongly effected.)
And in 2020, as Jupiter ingresses into Capricorn, I hope we get to play Lego together and dive wholeheartedly into a jovial re-construct.
....Now will we re-build an eco-friendly cooperative Lego Space Station, or Mr Business's Evil Headquarters? Time will tell.
Here are some Capricorn constructs our collective may bump into this year:
'If you don't follow the rules, you will not be (fill in the blank...) loved, successful, safe, acceptable, worthy... etc.'
'You have to compete. It's part of life.'
'Winners win, losers lose.'
'You are intrinsically lacking.'
'You have to fight to survive.'
'The best rise to the top.'
'Take from others before they take from you.'
'There is never enough when it comes to money, power and success.'
'ALWAYS strive for more.'
'If you aren't exhausted, you aren't working hard enough.'
'Don't bother thinking about the earth - it will work itself out.'
'Success equals... (fill in your blank) material possessions, financial freedom, excess and luxury, spending power, 'brands' and conspicuous material symbols, physical 'beauty', etc. etc. etc.'
'You deserve to live the high life.'
'Rich people deserve respect. Surely they know more than the rest of us.'
And here are some RADICAL HIGHER TRUTHS that might replace the old paradigms, ushered in by a drum-beat of Jupiter in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces.
1. We are all connected to Source, all of the time. No matter who we are, we have access to the most gloriously beautiful loving supportive and conscious intelligence that we can possibly imagine.
All we have to do is choose.
2. We are totally WHOLE, and are born that way. Only conditioning teaches us lack, competition, fear and greed.
When we embrace our WHOLE SELF, life becomes a celebration of sharing with others and contributing to collective good. TRUE COMMUNITY forms when members stand in loving sovereignty, in FEROCIOUS ALIGNMENT with self and source.
3. Claiming FEROCIOUS ALIGNMENT is an act of utter rebelliousness which can topple every falsehood, every lie, every corrupted thought and action.
It is enough to change the world.
4. When in this alignment, what we need comes with ease. Particularly when we feel GRATITUDE FOR BEING WHAT WE ARE. By telling the universe 'thank you!!', we are freed to co-create what our soul requires to be here abundantly.
(...a contextual tangent: the 'construct' I believe our collective will face strongly into this next year is GREED and EXCESS. In a beautiful ceremony at Winter Solstice spirit blessed me with a teaching, showing me that a remedy for greed is GRATITUDE.... By affirming gratitude for what we are, what we have, and all that is... by affirming the TRUTH (that we are enough and lack nothing), we counteract the beliefs that we have to try harder, strive and compete, get more, and fight to win. And perhaps most importantly, we quell the belief that we need more than we actually do.
You see GRATITUDE brings us into CENTER. And in true alignment with center and source, SUSTAINABILITY is possible.
And it seems our planet could use a little sustainability right about now.)
No platitudes. Sober Business. Capricorn.
This is MY TRUTH I am sharing.... because that's what I am taking responsibility for this year.
I'm quite done with worrying you will find me a little 'crazy'. In gratitude, I OBLITERATE my outdated structures - such as 'I have no right to show up'. 'My truth is irrelevant and lacks value'. 'There is something wrong with me'. 'I am too weird to be acceptable'. 'No one will understand me'.

An ECLIPSE is a powerful energetic gate, wherein we may receive information that helps us move past karma and old 'structures'. So play it well.
This is a big one, this year of ours. And it starts now, with our New Moon and Solar Eclipse and MASSIVE stellium of Capricorn.
